Fun Friday Activity: Gingerbread Playdough

This week we are getting messy and making gingerbread playdough from a recipe I found on Sweet Sugar Belle blog (she has some adorable pictures with her kids making pretend pies using the recipe). Roll up your sleeves and get ready to have your house smelling like a winter holiday wonderland!

You can also find the recipe below:

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup salt

  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar

  • 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon

  • 2 tsp. ground ginger

  • 1 tsp. ground nutmeg

  • 1 tsp. ground cloves

  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil

  • 1 cup water

Directions:

  1. Mix all dry ingredients in a saucepan.

  2. Stir in wet ingredients until a waffle-batter consistency forms.

  3. Turn heat on medium-low and continue mixing until it starts to form a dough.

  4. Fold out onto parchment paper or lightly floured surface. Knead.

  5. Enjoy! Refrigerate when not using.
